John, I'm going to try real hard to make this one. I'll probably be in Missouri at this time anyway, about 150 miles north of Branson. I'll make my dr's appointment here in the desert a little later in Nov. to give me time for the reunion.
Things to do: take in a show- which is probably a given- there's also an IMAX theater there, oodles of tourist traps and beautiful Ozark country to drive thru!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I think of more I'll pass it on......

Thanks for this e-mail, it is one of the best things I have read in a
while.
I enjoyed the photos of San Diego, particularly MCRD, it's been exactly
fifty years.
I'm seven weeks post-operative. I lucked out. The cancer classified as
stage 1 and totally within the kidney they removed.
I've joined a local informal group called Shasta Area Marines. They meet
for lunch once a month, and put on a Marine Corps Ball each year. The
majority of the group are WWII Marines, with a few folks from the Navy and
Army.
My wife and I haven't been to Bronson. If everything goes well we may have
the opportunity to attend next year.
Semper Fi,
Tony

I am reading all your email and looking over my package from Branson.
It looks like the first thing we need to do is pick out a hotel with a meeting room and a restaurant for our dinner. This is a very busy place on the week of Veterans Day so we shoud get a reservations in somewhere.
Also, if we have enough people drive, I know everyone would love to go to Springfield which is about 50 miles from Branson, where the Bass Pro Shop is located and the Wildlife Museum is adjacent tol the Bass Pro Shop.

From John Smyth
You must be reading my mind.
I was also thinking that the first thing we should do is pick a Hotel and work from there.
My thinking is that the hotel should be near some of the places that we will want to visit.
I believe that nearest airport to Branson, MO is 43 miles away?
Do we need to rent a car ?
Is their a shuttle between the airport and the Hotels in Branson?
I have my Computer set up so that all Email that contains "HMR 363" or "Reunion" in the subject , That Email is transferred to it, So that I read that Email first

Some Questions we need to ask ourselves.
Do we want to seek help from the Reunion Planners or go on our own?
Do we want to pick out shows ourselves or have the attendees vote?
There are lots to pick from, my thoughts are to fill out the Request for Proposal and see what the Reunion Planners can come up with.
I believe we can make our desires that we know of known and they can see if they can make it happen.

From Gene Comiskey
My hope is that Marlene and I will be able to be at the 2005 gathering. I am scheduled to teach in a program in the fall of 2005 that meets on the weekend. This may be a problem, but I will see what I can do.
Thanks for the email list. What about inviting other MAG 36 guys whom we have connected with in putting together the HMR 363 list?
My suggestion is that we have activities that get us out of the Hotel but also keep us together. Many thanks for all of your dedicated work.

Bill,
The proposal looks fine to me. We might as well send it in and see what they come up with.
Your itinerary for Branson sounded good. It would probably be a good idea to find out if anyone has any preferences for any particular show tho. There are afternoon shows that they could go to if they wanted to see anything in particular.
Be sure to include myself and my wife as planning on attending.

Jim, I don't know anything about Branson, but picked up a tour book from AAA and the first thing I saw when I turned to Branson was an ad for a Veterans Task Force specializing in military reunions. (866 859 4232) EMail info@bransonveterans,com, Web Site www.bransonveterans.com. They will provide a free Reunion Planner's packet.
If I can do anything from here let me know.
